NSS 2010 Auction
Greetings!
Once again as this year's NSS swiftly approaches, we are sending out reminders concerning the fund raising auctions that help support the show.
This year we will be offering a silent auction open throughout the show week and a live auction to be conducted the night of the banquet. BUT, we are in need of donated items for these auctions. Historically our club members have been very generous to this cause, and in recent years, there has been a friendly competition from groups of members going together to donate State Baskets. We are hoping that this year will be no different.
Please take a few minutes and consider what you may have to donate. Jewelry, books, artwork, dog related or not, we will accept it. We would also like to challenge everyone to participate in the State Basket competition.
All items can be shipped to the address below, or if you are planning on attending this year's NSS, just bring your items with you. If you bring them, please send Renee a list of the items to be cataloged.

About Gilroy
Gilroy is located in northern California, about 80 miles south of San Francisco. It is the end of the Bay Area, where the valley ends. In September and October you can usually expect mild spring like weather with usually no threat of rain. It is a rural city, with every modern convenience. Gilroy is the "Garlic Capital of the World"! And yes, at the right time it does stink like garlic here!
There are three major international airports conveniently serving the area. Gilroy is located 36 miles south of the San Jose Airport, 67 miles south from the San Francisco airport, and 67 miles south from the Oakland airport. When planning to arrive, try to make your plans around not arriving during commute hours, as the traffic traveling south can be heavy. Arriving midday or earlier or early evening would be best.
There are tons of attractions in the area.! You are just a short ride away from Santa Cruz (Beach Boardwalk), Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula (home to Fisherman's Wharf and the Monterey Bay Aquarium). The host hotel is a short walk from 145 outlet stores! Feel like stepping back in time - you can visit Mission San Juan Bautista, just a twenty minutes ride. Walk around the mission town, tour the mission itself and shop the antique stores.
